A lot of firsts

On wednesday we went skating at Nathan Phillips Square.
I haven't gone skating for over 10 years, but it's good to know that you still remember how to after so long.
But before I continue:

What is this? Is there a deer problem at Nathan Phillips Square? I didn't see a deer the whole night... LIES!
Someone explain this sign to me, maybe I'm missing something. Maybe these are educational signs for children and immigrants? I suppose in other areas they'll have signs with different things on them. *shrug*

GO GO GADGET SKATES!

Renting cost $9 for 2 hours (I don't know if they actually enforce the time rule. I think we stopped skating a bit after 2 hours.) which is kinda expensive @_@
The other crappy thing is that the skates I got (and that everyone else got) were pretty dull... I was sliding all over the ice, it was pretty bad. I was too scared to stop or skate fast. I somehow managed to get used to it, I dunno how Mike and XZ learned to skate with dull skates but they kicked ass, same with everyone else who didn't really know how to skate.

Oh and another thing, if you plan on going skating on an outdoor rink make sure it's not windy or really cold...
It was pretty cold when we went, everyone kept saying how cold they were or how their face was frozen. By the end though I was ok since I was moving around a lot (Y).
Next time Mike and XZ are gonna have a deathmatch skating race. It's gonna be awesome.

After skating, we head over to Mike's apartment to go eat okonomiyaki(pancake like thing with various things in it).
Mike "conveniently" forgets to buy drinks and asks me to go with him, Mayu tags along cuz we're missing ingredients for the okonomiyaki.
We come back and when Mike opens the door, it's all dark and then SURPRISE!

I totally wasn't expecting a surprise thingy! I think this was my first surprise birthday! :O
We ate cake(made from scratch by Fumi/Mayu/Mike/Moe), okonomiyaki(cooked by Mayu/Fumi) and XZ's red bean soup. All delicious!

Oh I forgot to mention that Fumi didn't do capoeira for me even though it was my birthday :(
She did however show us how to hail a taxi cab... "HEY TAXI *POSE*" which was totally awesome so she's neutral. I need to get a pic of Fumi doing her "hey taxi!" pose. XD

So, our japanese class had an end of the year party on saturday. Here are most of the pics from my camera.

I made sushi for the first time! It had a happy face in it!

The first school term is coming to an end... Why do things have to really suck before they get better?

It's like being in a sauna for a long time and you're all hot and sweaty and you can barely breath and you just want to get out into the fresh air. But before you can do that you need to be set on fire and while you're rolling around on the floor, there are a bunch of guys beating you with bats until the fire's out.

That's how I feel about school. It's almost time to feel the wrath of the fire and bats... ;____;

Haven't really had time to make a "real" post, those will have to wait until after Dec8.
