The Rex

Went out to a jazz club called The Rex for Mo's going away shindig thingy on saturday. It's close to Osgoode station and across from where the condom shack is. XD

Waiting at starbucks by Mike's place near St. Andrews station

I ended up taking a nap

It was my first time at a jazz club and overall it was a pleasant experience.

The jazz was good but everything else was kind of a clusterfuck. After paying the 8$ cover, we managed to find a few empty seats close to the playing area. Which was lucky for us because the place was pretty packed. The tables had a couple empty/half empty glasses... it seems like the people who were sitting there previously had just left (that or the waiters were lazy). Speaking of waiters, they had like 2 waitresses serving about 75 or so people(maybe more?). After we got our drinks though it was good times.

They had a weird menu too... Thai noodles? Stir fry vegetables?

We checked out the 930 gig: BOB BROUGH QUARTET
Although I pretty much know nothing about jazz, I liked em. The real star of the show wasn't Bob Brough though. It was their bassist. The way he played was awesome! He had one of those psycho stares going on and he was nodding his head like crazy. Very entertaining to watch! =D

Farewell Mo! Have fun in the land of the rising sun.

Ha Ha Ha! That bassist was so awesome, and kind of scary. I really love how they all gave him this look like, "yea...good job man....okay....calm down...hey....PUT DOWN THAT KNIFE! WHAT ARE DOING!?!!??!" That's why he is a role model for anyone who wants both TALENT and PSYCHOTIC TENDANCIES! Ah, good times.
